The Pre-Award Journey

 posted by | 13/01/2020

The session is a light-hearted yet informative journey through the pre-award process from the ‘idea stage’ to making a successful submission. The session is relaxed and informal and focuses on the use of interactive activities aimed at facilitating discussion between academics and increasing understanding of university processes and the support we have on offer. The main topics covered are as follows:

• The Three Ps of Pre-award – preparation, people, process. Preparation
• Growing your bid – what steps are needed to grow a bid from idea stage to submission?
• At what stage on the timeline do the various steps need to happen to ensure a bid is prepared in good time?
• People – People Power – who is needed to offer support to develop a bid, and where can you find them?
• Process – Building Blocks to Submission – a roundup of the essential processes, both internal and external, which need to be met to ensure a successful submission.
• The Golden Rules of Bid Submission

The session will help:
• Raise awareness of internal processes
• Get academics from different disciplines talking to each other
• Ensure academics know where to go for help and support at what stage

This course is aimed at all academics across the University, but particularly new starters, ECR’s and those unfamiliar with university process. The next session is scheduled to take place on 21st January from 10:00-12:00pm.
