National Learning at Work Week 2022 – Friday 20th May

Friday’s theme is Inclusion. We have a range of options available for staff to engage with today, mostly taking place online.

• Equalities Manager, Hayley Parker, is leading a session at 2pm on Teams about Inclusive Language for the LGBTQ+ community with some great tips that apply to both staff and students.

• We also have an external partner, Clare Cromarty, delivering a session at 12pm on Teams about Disability Awareness and some practical tips to remain inclusive.

Online Module / Resource of the Day

To ensure we create an inclusive environment and culture here at the University, it’s important to recognise when students may be in distress and offer them the support they need. Dr Roger Bretherton and Jacqueline Mayer have recorded two videos about supporting students who may be in distress; highlighting both practical techniques to use as well as information on the services available to help those students by trained services and professionals.
