Business School Associate Professor – Panellist at Commonwealth Connect 2023

Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman, Associate Professor of Sustainability and Innovation from the Lincoln International Business School was invited as a Panellist at the Commonwealth Connect 2023 event on the 6th of February 2023.

Dr. Rahman’s talk was entitled ‘What more can be done to galvanise the entrepreneurial sector towards sustainable economic development?’. The event was chaired by Professor Robin Mason, Chair of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) at the University of Birmingham. The other speakers were:

• The Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP, Minister of State in the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office
• Dr Joanna Newman, Executive Secretary of the CSC, Chief Executive and Secretary General of the Association of Commonwealth Universities
• Dr Titilola Banjoko, Chair of the Board of the Foundation for Women’s Health Research and Development (FORWARD) and the International Rescue Committee (IRC) UK
• Professor Rolph Payet, Executive Secretary of the Basel, Rotterdam, and Stockholm Conventions

Dr Rahman commented: “Entrepreneurship research has predominately focused on firm-level conceptions of success and the personal factors that help predict them but has stopped short of investigating what it means to entrepreneurs”
