Personal Effectiveness and Assertiveness

Personal Effectiveness and Assertiveness are often key to communicating ideas to colleagues, and progressing in the workplace. However they are qualities that many of us are unsure how to deploy correctly, particularly when we may sometimes lack confidence.
This course is designed to help staff members to develop better interpersonal communication skills and maintain assertiveness in order to deal effectively with other people.
Delegates will be shown how:
• To understand the difference between passive, aggressive, and assertive behaviours
• To develop an understanding of body language and the messages this sends out to others
• Understanding the techniques of assertiveness and when to use them effectively
• To understand their own triggers and develop strategies for dealing with situations they find challenging
This course is available to all staff. The next session is scheduled to take place on 1st May 2018 in the Minerva Building, Brayford Campus.
