Eid Mubarak! May this special day bring peace, happiness and prosperity to everyone.

The end of Ramadan is celebrated with Eid-ul-Fitr – the festival of ‘fast-breaking’.

The festivities usually start in the morning through the offering of congregational prayers hosted in mosques or outdoor spaces. After prayers have been concluded, Muslims celebrate the rest
of the day in accordance with the diverse range of cultures and traditions as reflected across the Muslim world. This is usually in the form of family and friend visits, events in local parks or community centres, days out at theme parks, and other similar excursions. However, there is one element that is common amongst all cultural festivities; the resumption of eating and drinking during daylight hours, which was not allowed during fasting.

This year Eid-ul-Fitr will fall on Monday 2 May. The Eid 2022 date will vary slightly from country to country and some communities choose to celebrate Eid over three days.
