Held in collaboration with the rEUsilience Research Project at the University of Oxford, all are welcome to join us online to explore the evolving relationship between the state and the family, inviting critical reflection on whether a coherent family policy exists in the UK today and what that means for families and society.

Chaired by Co-founder of the SPA Family Policy group Professor Anna Tarrant, we will hear from select members of the Social Policy Association Family Policy Group, including Harriet Churchill, Sung-Hee Lee, and Moldir Kabylova as well as opportunities for Q&A and reflection.

We warmly invite you to join us for what promises to be an engaging and important conversation.

Professor Mary Daly holds the Chair in Sociology and Social Policy based at the Department of Social Policy and Intervention at the University of Oxford. She is a Governing Body Fellow of Green Templeton College Oxford and a member of the British Academy as well as the Academy of Social Sciences. Most of her work is comparative, in a European and international context. Mary Daly’s research has been supported by, among others, the Economic and Social Research Council, Horizon Europe, ILO, Council of Europe, UNWomen and UNICEF. Her current research focuses on the concept of resilience and whether and how it can be applied to families.
