From Monday 9 June, Professor Abigail Woods will be taking a short sabbatical, combined with several weeks of annual leave.

In her absence, Professor Karen Savage will take the post of interim Head of College for the period 9 June to 7 September 2025 inclusive. Professor Savage has previously been Head and Interim Head of three schools in the college and has worked across the college as Head of Arts, Culture and Heritage. She has been a staff Governor at the University and contributed to several university-wide committees and projects. As Professor of Creative and Collaborative Arts, she has particular experience in interdisciplinary and collaborative research practices. Karen is also a Principal Fellow of the HEA.

Karen is looking forward to working with colleagues across the college and university during the next three months.

Rachel Mills will be providing EA support to Karen during Abigail’s absence.
