Workshop of the month
Training Details
The workshop of the month is Prevent.
Prevent is a key element of the UK Government’s counter-terrorism strategy, CONTEST, designed to protect individuals and communities. It focuses on tackling the causes of radicalisation, addressing the ideological challenge of terrorism, and safeguarding those most at risk through early intervention and support.
By joining this training, you will:
• Understand the Prevent duty and why it matters.
• Recognise different forms of extremism and terrorism.
• Identify risks around radicalisation and learn how to offer support.
• Gain confidence in making informed, well-intentioned Prevent referrals.
• Explore interventions and support available for those at risk.
This course is being delivered nationally by Sam Slack, East Midlands Regional Education Prevent Coordinator.
This course sits within Tier 3 and should be completed by anyone involved in delivering an apprenticeship.
