Showcase of Student work at NCCD

14 Sep - 13 Oct

The National Centre for Craft and Design, Sleaford, is showcasing handmade books made by first and second year students from Lincoln’s School of Design. Taking a chapter from Flatlands (a novella about a two dimensional world, first published in 1884) and other texts as starting points, Graphic Design students have created playful and experimental books in different formats including concertina, pamphlet and glue bindings. The mainly typographic designs have been printed using Risograph and digital printers, letterpress and screenprinting. The books were the result of a series of Technician led masterclasses in book arts and printing and other creative processes. The exhibition is free and runs alongside the Typographic Dante, by programme leader Barrie Tullett until the 13th October.
