Lincoln Book Festival Event – Come and hear Melvyn Bragg
NOW IS THE TIME is Melvyn Bragg’s first historical novel for twelve years.
In 1381, as a virulent plague grips England, a vast force of common people led by Wat Tyler and the outlaw priest John Ball marches on London protesting against unfair taxes …
Masterfully blending fact and fiction in a tale of power and justice, religion, loyalty and ethics, Melvyn Bragg brings alive the momentous episode in English history that saw our island’s first democratic uprising.
Melvyn Bragg’s novels include The Hired Man (winner of the Time/Life Silver Pen Award) and Without a City Wall (winner of the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize). He has also written several works of non-fiction, including The Book of Books about the King James Bible. He has presented BBC Radio 4’s In Our Time since 1998
The Lincoln Book Festival is delighted to welcome Melvyn Bragg to The Chapter House, Lincoln Cathedral on 3rd November at 7.00 pm.
Tickets available from Lincoln Drill Hall in person or on 01522 873894 (Monday-Saturday 10-5) or online www.lincolndrillhall.com or from the Cathedral Shop.
