Domestic Refrigerator Survey
Feasibility of the Internet of Things for domestic refrigerators, food safety, and waste.
A team of researchers from the University of Lincoln and the Grimsby Institute have been funded by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) to carry out a study to explore how new developments in internet connectivity and smart apps may be used to support the safe handling and storage of foods in domestic refrigerators.
The study is being carried out purely for social research purposes.
We are hoping to encourage a broad range of households to take part in the study covering people living alone, those in shared accommodation, couples, pregnant women, families, and across all age groups from young people to older people, including the over 80s. Whatever type, or size, of fridge you have, we are really interested in involving you in this study.
We will treat all the information that you provide in the strictest confidence and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Everything about you and your household will be made anonymous in any reports or presentations from the study so that you will not be identified.
