PhD by Published Work
Staff may be aware that there are new regulations for staff completing Doctorate qualifications via the PhD by Published Work route. To support staff with this, we are pleased to announce two upcoming workshops delivered by Dr Susan Smith from Leeds Beckett University.
Susan is the author of ‘PhD by Published Work – A Practical Guide for Success’ and will offer a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the session, with copies of Susan’s book available to staff in the Library.
The first workshop is specifically for Supervisors of PhD by Published Work. The aim of this session is to support academic staff in the development of their supervisory skills to work with candidates from enrolment to completion for PhD by Publication route. This workshop will raise participants’ awareness of the key elements of successfully supervising a PhD by Published Work to completion.
The second workshop is an introductory workshop which is aimed at academic staff who are currently beginning to publish in peer-reviewed academic publications around a coherent theme and are considering doing a PhD by Published Work; or experienced staff who already have an existing set of publications in peer reviewed academic journals around a coherent theme and wish to use these to contribute to a PhD by Published Work.
