Why not do something amazing this year and get involved in the Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James) – a large network of ancient pilgrim routes stretching across Europe and coming together at the tomb of St. James in Santiago de Compostela in north-west Spain.

The pilgrim will take place from 19th to 31st August (the 20th-30th), where the group will walk the “Coastal Portuguese route” from the city of Porto in northern Portugal to the city of Santiago in northern Spain (a distance of around 250 kilometres). You do not have to do the whole route but it is well worth the time and effort if you can! Those who do a minimum of the last 100km will receive an official ‘compostela’ (certificate).

The cost should be around £300 pounds for the whole trip, and will include accommodation, food and flights (into Porto and out of Santiago).

If you are interested please contact Jonathan Shiell, PhD student and Chaplaincy Volunteer, at jShiell@lincoln.ac.uk. Jonathan can provide an itinerary of the journey and a useful list of what to bring.
