Launch of the Lincoln Award – 21st Century Employability Skills
The University of Lincoln is excited to announce the launch of the Lincoln Award – 21st Century Employability Skills; a new and exciting element to the award designed to equip students from all disciplines with the necessary skills to prepare them for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st Century workplace.
The world is at the beginning of a new revolution, growing at phenomenal speed, and considered to be the 4th such leap forward and hence labelled Industrial Digitalisation 4.0 (ID 4.0).
Research predicts that one third of all jobs will be converted into software, robots, and smart machines by as early as 2025. Other research predicts that 65% of today’s school children will eventually be employed in jobs that are yet to be created.
The University of Lincoln is working closely with local industry to identify the skills our graduates will need to succeed, and together we have created a series of activities and events themed around ID 4.0 which is open to all students signed up for the Lincoln Award. The activities and events will form part of the Lincoln Award extra-curricular activities.
Updates on forthcoming 21st Century Employability Skills events will be emailed directly to Lincoln Award students, as well as appearing in the Careers and Employability online events calendar available at: http://uolcareers.co.uk/events/. We will also be holding an exciting and interactive launch event early next year.
Students can enrol on the Lincoln Award by visiting the Careers Centre or book onto a Lincoln Award Induction. Details can be found at http://uolcareers.co.uk/events/
