Draft Strategic Plan

posted by Ian Richards | 30/05/2022

In February I ran a series of town hall meetings to outline the ambition of the University and the opportunities and challenges we are likely to encounter over the next few years. These were followed by five sets of weekly questions for staff to answer. The response was heartening, not just in its size, but also how it represented how deeply staff care about the University.

The feedback we received, together with continuing conversations internally, and with our external partners, has resulted in a Draft Strategic Plan for the period 2022-27: Transforming Lives and Communities.

The Strategic Plan outlines our ambition, purpose and vision. It also articulates a set of actions around the themes of Collaborate, Challenge and Transform.

I am now asking that you read the draft plan and provide views and comments, via the blogsite, by Friday 17th June. I will then present the plan together with the comments raised at town hall meetings in the weeks commencing 20th and 27th June. The meetings will include time for Q&A with me on the University’s ambition and the actions we need to take to achieve this ambition.

This process should then enable a final version of the Plan to be approved by the Board of Governors at the end of July

I encourage you to get involved and guide the University to ever greater success
