You are warmly invited to the third LSHH online research seminar of 2022–23, on Wednesday 18th January 1–2pm. The seminar will take place on MS Teams. All are welcome! Please email Laura Gill (lgill@lincoln.ac.uk) to receive a link to the meeting.

Dr Jennifer Cromwell, Dr Caitlin Nunn and Dr Sarah Linn (MMU) will be speaking to us about their current project, “Ancient History, Contemporary Belonging: A Creative Exploration of the Migration of Ancient Historical Objects with Migrant-Background Young People”. Ancient History, Contemporary Belonging is a UKRI–funded project based at the Manchester Centre for Youth Studies at Manchester Metropolitan University and led by Drs Jennifer Cromwell and Caitlin Nunn.

The project, a creative exploration of the migration of ancient historical objects with migrant-background young people, is a collaboration – across ages, backgrounds, practices, and expertise – and is conducted in partnership with Manchester Museum and Sheba Arts. In this seminar, we will present an overview of the project, our methodology, and some of our key findings to date. In particular, we will address our youth researchers’ responses to the museum archive and stores, and the difficulties involved in researching cultural heritage.
