Vigil for the people of Turkey and Syria

15 Feb
 posted by Tim Marks

In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, a vigil will be held on Wednesday 15 February at 12pm, on the Brayford Pool Campus outside the Minerva Building, at the front of the University.

We welcome members of the University community to stand alongside the Multi-Faith Chaplaincy to show solidarity with the people of Turkey and Syria during this time. There will be collection boxes available for anyone who wishes to donate and all the proceedings will go towards the rebuilding of homes and lives.

We would like our One Community to show solidarity, strength and send prayers and best wishes. There will also be a notice board where thoughts can be shared for the people of Turkey and Syria.

You can donate to the Disasters Emergency Committee Turkey-Syria earthquake appeal where the UK Government will be matching donations from the public at the link here: Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal 2023 | Donate Now | DEC

If you are a student in need of support please email Studentsupport@lincoln.ac.uk, phone 01522 837080, or drop in to the Student Support Centre. Chaplains will also be offering their help to staff and students.
