The Lincoln Impact Literacy Institute invites you to get involved in a week of Impact events to support Research Impact across the University.

Impact Week will run from Monday 27 March until Friday 31 March, with a mixture of events which are open to university colleagues and research students.

  • Monday 27 March – 12pm until 6pm – Ross Lucas Medical Sciences Building:
    Creating Meaningful Impact Conference – Open to all (Including externals)
    This conference includes a pre-launch of Dr Julie Bayley’s new book Creating Meaningful Impact: The Essential Guide to Developing an Impact-Literate Mindset. Featuring guests Dr David Phipps, Derek Stewart, Helen Lau, Chris Hewson, Lorna Wilson and Vicky Williams.
  • Tuesday 28 March – 10am until 12pm – David Chiddick Building (DCB1102)
    Knowledge Mobilisation for Impact – Open to university colleagues and research students
    This conference is hosted by Dr David Phipps and will focus on how we can meaningfully engage with society through the research process to drive change.
  • Tuesday 28 March – 2:30pm until 4.30pm – Minerva Building – Jackson Lecture Theatre
    Coproduction for Impact – Open to university colleagues and research students
    In this session, Dr David Phipps will expand on coproduction as a specific type of knowledge mobilisation, and help build people’s understanding of how coproduction can work most effectively and fairly in practice.
  • Wednesday 29 March – 2pm until 4pm – Alfred Tennyson Building (ATB3207)
    Developing a Team, Departmental or Wider Impact Strategy – Open to university colleagues and research students
    In this session, Dr David Phipps will unpack some of the key elements of an impact strategy, offer guidance on how to build one within an area of practice, and reflect on the opportunities to integrate impact into the wider activities of a team.
  • Thursday 30 March – 12pm until 1:30pm – Minerva Building (MB3101)
    Delivering Impact in the Health Sector – Open to university colleagues and research students

    This session is held by Mark Taylor (Head of Strategic Partnerships, NIHR), who will cover some of the challenges and opportunities for driving research into the health sector, provide signposting to key stakeholders, and help colleagues consider how ‘joining forces’ across disciplines could improve impact possibilities.
  • Friday 31 March – 9:30am until 1:30pm – The Bridge, Joseph Ruston Building
    Knowledge Exchange, Commercialisation and the Route to Impact – Open to university colleagues

    This event is held by Mark Taylor, and is split into three sessions: Research Management and Knowledge Exchange; From Tickell to Tech Transfer, The Lincoln Lens and Research Exploitation vs Research Culture.
