Following launch of the University’s new Strategic Plans (2022-27) I am delighted to announce that the Lincoln Academy of Learning & Teaching (LALT) will host the first annual Teaching, Learning and Student Experience Conference on Wednesday 7 June 2023.

This conference, which is for University staff only, will serve as a platform to explore the new Teaching, Learning and Student Experience strategy, and provide an opportunity for all colleagues who deliver or support teaching and learning activity to come together to share expertise and showcase exemplars of best practice.

The following themes have been identified for the conference, which align with the successful implementation of this new strategy:
Curriculum for LIFE – embracing a new approach to curricular content and delivery – embedding core skills from the Lincoln for LIFE wheel in helping all our graduates to succeed in our ever-changing society. Examples of practice will contribute to advancing our inclusive curriculum work and updating the assessment framework to deliver authentic assessments, in line with the strategy.

Diverse delivery – Focused on updating systems and processes to enable a more flexible delivery model of teaching and learning for our students, including next steps for our apprenticeships and skills/micro-credentials delivery, refining and expanding provision around delivery to learners needs. Interdisciplinary delivery (between Colleges) will also be a focus.
Sense of Belonging – Activity which relates to all facets of student engagement with their programme, and the wider University community – which includes Student as Producer and other extra-curricular activities, where these have the potential to enhance that student experience. Working closely with the SU and Professional Services, this will include a renewed focus on international students.
Student Services refresh – Utilising the strategy to refresh and enhance our approach to student support and wellbeing for all students, embedding Access and Participation Plan interventions within core support activities and acknowledging the specific needs of our growing international student community.

To register to attend on the day please click here – you will also be able to indicate whether you are interested in presenting at the conference and LALT will be in touch to follow this up with you. With capacity for up to 300 staff on the day, please do sign-up to guarantee your place.

As an all-day event, refreshments and lunch will be provided – and weather permitting we are hoping to be able to host a BBQ at lunchtime.
