Reminder: Improvements to teaching spaces in the Minerva Building

posted by Olivia Warbey | 05/07/2023

As part of the Estates summer works programme, contractors are currently refurbishing several spaces in the Minerva Building.

Works will take place until Friday 15 September, to refurbish and improve the following teaching spaces on the first and third floors:-

• MB1001, MB1002 – partition wall will be demolished to create one large teaching space.
• MB1014, MB1015 – partition wall will be demolished to create one large teaching space.
• MB3101, MB3303 – refurbishment works to improve the space, installation of new lighting, flooring and decoration. Creation of a new lobby space to enable WC to be accessed from open space rather than teaching space.
• MB3401, MB3601 – refurbishment works to improve the space, including the demolition of inner meeting room/office spaces, new lighting, AC, flooring and decorations. Creation of lobby space to enable WC to be accessed from open space rather than teaching space.

An external hoist has been installed on the South East elevation of the Minerva Building (MB3101) to assist with the removal of debris and construction waste for the duration of the project, which should not cause noise disruption during its operation.

Estates colleagues are liaising with Timetabling and contractors are aware of key dates when work needs to be kept to a minimum to ensure that events and exams are not disrupted.
