Public guest lecture: Rediscovering Ellen Wood in the Twenty-First Century

On Tuesday 24th October Bishop Grosseteste University’s RKE Unit Voicing the Past and the Nineteenth Century Research Group at the University of Lincoln will co-host a public guest lecture:

Professor Mariaconcetta Costantini, ‘Rediscovering Ellen Wood in the Twenty-First Century: Why and How’

Professor Costantini (G. d’Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara, Italy) is currently Visiting Professor at Bishop Grosseteste University. In this talk, she will present her recent work on the Victorian writer Ellen Wood (or ‘Mrs Henry Wood’, best known for her 1861 sensation novel East Lynne). Professor Costantini will be reflecting on the significance of recovering her work and how to widen the scope of Victorian Studies through new and diverse material.

The talk begins at 5.30pm and will take place in the Robert Hardy Building – Teaching Room 1 on the Bishop Grosseteste University campus. The event is free to attend for staff and students from both universities. There is no need to pre-register.
