Graduation Ceremonies – April 2024

April 2024

The University’s next graduation ceremonies will take place between 16-18 April 2024.

The decision to move our winter ceremonies from January to spring has been agreed by the Senior Leadership Team following a recommendation from the University’s Graduation Working Group. The timing of our main September graduation ceremonies will be unchanged.

All our graduation ceremonies will continue to take place in the magnificent Lincoln Cathedral with a celebration event at Lincoln Castle.

The change in timing of our winter ceremonies responds to increased demand on colleagues in recent years from larger January/February enrolment intakes, January exam boards, and the permanent change to the UCAS Equal Consideration deadline. Moving the ceremonies forward to spring will ensure we can continue to offer our graduates an exceptional graduation experience, including in the run-up to the ceremonies. A number of other factors have been considered, including availability of our key venues and visa arrangements of international students. The University has previously held graduation ceremonies successfully in April/May in 2022, following the postponements of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The spring 2024 graduation ceremonies will be for eligible students with an award conferred by a University Board of Examiners or End Point Assessor between 1st August 2023 and 1st March 2024.

The configurations of the April 2024 ceremonies (ie. the times of the ceremonies defined to School level) will be published soon and, as normal, university colleagues invited to register their attendance for the relevant ceremonies at that point. The dates of the spring ceremonies will be published to the University website and graduands identified as eligible will be invited to register attendance once configurations are available.
