Professor Kim Barker, Lincoln Law School, addressed a high-level invitation only roundtable organised and hosted by Ofcom and Melanie Dawes (Ofcom CEO) on 22 February 2024.

The roundtable featured 24 selected expert voices on online violence against women (OVAW), ahead of Ofcom’s work to prepare guidance for all online service providers who fall within the new regulatory landscape introduced under the Online Safety Act 2023. Professor Barker addressed the roundtable on the topic of research approaches and challenges to OVAW based on her expertise in addressing regulation of online spaces and social media.
