On April 16th, in a significant educational collaboration, our MBA students from the Negotiation module, led by Professor Andrea Caputo and Mrs. Mariya Kargina, participated in a dynamic cross-cultural negotiation exercise with students from the Global Innovation and Cross-Cultural Collaboration module at the Munich University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Business Administration, led by Dr Nicole Brunnhuber.

The exercise was conducted in the Harvard Lecture Theatre space and adjacent rooms, involving more than 80 students from both universities. This event, part of the Negotiation module within the MBA program, provided a platform for students to engage in intricate negotiation simulations that mirror the complexities of global business interactions.

Professor Andrea Caputo stated: “This exercise is crucial for developing a global mindset among our students, essential for the international scope of today’s business negotiations.”

Mrs. Mariya Kargina added: “Our students demonstrated impressive adaptability and strategic thinking in a cross-cultural context, which is key to navigating the global business landscape.”

Dr. Mohammad Fakhar Manesh, the MBA program leader who visited the simulation, noted: “Observing our students interact with their peers from Germany was profoundly rewarding. The exercise not only honed their negotiation skills but also deepened their cultural awareness, which is vital in today’s interconnected world.”

The session highlighted the importance of cultural sensitivity and the ability to negotiate across cultural boundaries. Students were challenged to think critically and creatively while engaging with different negotiation styles and strategies.

“The collaboration with the German students offered a unique perspective and helped us realize the potential of cross-cultural partnerships,” mentioned one of the participating MBA students.
