An apprentice and colleague at the University of Lincoln is celebrating after being announced as a finalist for the Lincolnshire Apprentice Championship Awards.

Ann Lloyd is has recently graduated from a Senior Masters Degree Apprenticeship at the University, as an Associate Professor and Quality Lead for the National Centre for Food Manufacturing on Holbeach Campus.

Ann wanted to expand on her knowledge of Leadership and Management, and was encouraged by her line manager to enrol on a Level 7 apprenticeship.

Speaking at the time of putting herself forward for the awards Ann said:

“I want to be able to contribute with more management skills to teach on industry specific short courses that generate external income through an educational contracts model.

“As quality lead for NCFM, I engaged with other schools to standardise and advise on Apprenticeship quality measures undertaken.

“I make time to engage with school careers days locally and additionally volunteered for a local special needs group to engage them with food quality and the food industry and support development.”

Sharon Green, Director of Apprenticeship and Skills at University of Lincoln said:

“Ann’s achievement goes beyond knowing we have the right processes, strategies, and industry standards in place, it is her individual search for a greater purpose, the acknowledgement of a job well done and the commitment to do even better going forward.”

As well as potential on the night for success for Ann, the University is also a finalist for the Greater Lincolnshire Apprenticeship Training Provider Award.

The ceremony for the Lincolnshire Apprenticeships Championship Awards takes place on Thursday 16 May.
