Lincoln Law School Achieves Athena Swan Bronze
Congratulations to Lincoln Law School, who have been awarded an Athena Swan Bronze Award in recognition for its commitment to gender equality.
Announced this week, the award from Advance HE – the official organisation promoting excellence in Higher Education – acknowledges the work undertaken by the School to ensure a positive working environment for women, and for the development of initiatives to bring about longer-term cultural change which will benefit all.
The Athena Swan application, led by Professor Karen Harrison, involved a critical self-assessment and the development of a 5-year action plan to ensure gender equality is embedded within policies, practices, and culture. The awarding panel commended the School for establishing champions for different protected characteristics on the School EDI Committee, to ensure that all voices are heard and represented, and the honest reflection demonstrated throughout the application.
The successful submission adds to the growing number of University of Lincoln schools and departments that champion gender equality through their participation in the award scheme. The University achieved a prestigious Institution Silver Award in March this year.
