National Bike Week 2024
National Bike Week (NBW) takes place between 10-16 June.
Cycling offers huge benefits to individuals and is an affordable, convenient and healthy way to travel. As we head towards the summer months, now might be the time to consider cycling to and from work. Cycling to work also gives you the added benefit of avoiding all those pesky roadworks we are seeing around the city at the moment!
All you need is a bike – if you don’t have one then you might want to consider using the Cycle2Work scheme. It is a great opportunity for colleagues to purchase a cycle and accessories to support their commute to the workplace whilst making significant (up to 47%) savings through salary sacrifice.
For more information about the Cycle to Work scheme please visit LincOn: University of Lincoln (linc-on.co.uk)
In support of NBW, we will be hosting a Social Cycle on Wednesday 12 June (subject to weather conditions) which will depart from the Brayford Campus at 5.15pm.
For further information and to register your interest please email: staffwellbeing@lincoln.ac.uk.
Competition time: send us a photo of you cycling to work during National Bike Week and you could be in with a chance of winning a cycling goodie bag. Please send your photos to staffwellbeing@lincoln.ac.uk and you will be entered into a prize draw where a name will be drawn at random at the end of the week. Anyone who attends the Social Cycle on 12 June will receive an extra entry into the prize draw.
