Did you know the University has a Social Running Group?

The group meet twice a week and welcomes all abilities, whether you are an established runner or just getting started. And now the weather is improving, there is no better time to start!

The sessions are very informal and are led by our Wellbeing Coach, Ian Eassom, who is always on hand to support individuals should you need it.

One of the running group regulars, Jo Hinman, Events Co-ordinator, started running in the first lockdown and is now a regular at both the Thursday and Sunday groups and would encourage anyone to come along. Jo said: “Everyone is so supportive of each other and it’s a great way to meet colleagues and students from across the University! We always have a so much fun and everyone is welcome – walkers and those just starting out on their running journey, as well as seasoned runners.”

The group meets every Thursday at 5.30pm outside the Sports Centre on Brayford Campus and every Sunday at 9am at the Linkage Café in Boultham Park, Lincoln. The sessions start with a quick chat and warm up before everyone heads off on their chosen route then meeting up again afterwards. If you attend the Sunday session, you will find there is always time for coffee, cake and a chat afterwards.
