Book of the Month August 2024

We are now well into the Summer holiday period, the sun has finally made an appearance and you may be looking forward to a holiday. If your holiday is all about relaxation and recharging the batteries, why not download a fiction book or two from the University Libby App and escape from the real world for a bit?

August’s Book of the Month is The Bee Sting by Paul Murray. Winning the Nero Gold Prize in 2023, The Bee Sting comes highly recommended as a holiday read with humour and twists galore. You can borrow The Bee Sting as a reading book or audiobook through Libby.

We also suggest relaxing with BBC Radio 2 Book Club Grave Expectations by Alice Bell for a humorous murder mystery, The Country Village Allotment by Cathy Lake for a gentle tale of friendship, Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano if you prefer a family saga and, if sci-fi is your thing, A Quantum Love Story by Mike Chen.

You can find the collection at https://lncn.ac/Libby, add your staff card at https://lncn.ac/addLibrary and download the Libby app from https://lncn.ac/GetLibby. You can also add your Lincolnshire Libraries card!

We’re keen to grow the collection, so if there is a book you would like to read or listen to, or a topic you would like to explore, please let us know. Email contentandcollections@lincoln.ac.uk or library@lincoln.ac.uk, we’d love to hear from you.
