Bridge Lab awarded LEAF Bronze

The Bridge, based in Jospeh Ruston Building, have successfully completed their efficiency drive and been awarded the LEAF Bronze award. Lab spaces use 3-10 times the amount of energy of a typical office space and produce almost 2% of single-use plastic waste worldwide, so it’s important to work as sustainably as we can in the laboratory. The LEAF system is designed to increase laboratory efficiency, making the operation of the laboratories much more environmentally sustainable, and reducing waste. Notably, for a small lab, the increases in efficiency resulted in an estimated saving of 23 tons of carbon dioxide, and a saving of more than nineteen thousand pounds in energy annually.
