Pro Vice Chancellor and Head of College, Professor Duncan French, said: “This is a significant step for the College of Health and Science, having come together as a new College just over a year ago. These Schools will provide new opportunities, working in a dynamic and progressive manner, to undertake pioneering research, as well as continuing to provide an excellent student experience. I am delighted that, along with the Heads of these new Schools, we will therefore be starting the new academic year with an exciting and positive agenda supporting the overall University mission and strategy. The College represents a broad range of academic enquiry and undertakes a wide range of activities, from exploring some of the most important global challenges through to training the next generation of healthcare professionals. In all that we do, the new Schools will be the driver for such forward-facing change.”

Further notes:

*The School of Agri-Food Technology & Manufacturing will retain the titles of Lincoln Institute for Agri-Food Technology (LIAT) and the National Centre for Food Manufacturing (NCFM) for external and reputational purposes.

*In addition to its Schools, the College of Health and Science will continue to support both the Lincoln International Institute for Rural Health, which following its E3 research success, has recently been renamed as the Lincoln Institute for Rural and Coastal Health (LIRCH), under the leadership of Professor Mark Gussy and ‘The Bridge’, the College’s Advanced Engineering Materials Centre, which will continue its work to provide excellent collaborative scientific research and development opportunities between external partners and colleagues within the College.

*The organisation of foundation year provision within the College of Health and Science will be changing at the same time from being provided through a discrete Foundation Year Centre to relevant colleagues now being full members of the schools relevant to their discipline. For any questions, please contact Professor Jo Rushworth, College Director of Education.
