The Launch of the Professional Development Unit (PDU)
The PDU launched its provision of support at the Teaching and Learning Showcase on Wednesday 4 September, currently operating under the Office for Apprenticeships and Skills, with “PDU” and “Argent Education” as working titles.
Led by Professor Sharon Green, Dean for Executive Education & Skills, and Chris Green, Chief Digital Officer, as SLT lead, the department will be employer led and place educational outcomes and quality of teaching and learning at the heart of its approach, ensuring that Lincoln is reactive to changing market trends and learner requirements. Internally, it will provide a hub of support to enable colleagues to respond to opportunities and create new educational pathways.
This Sway presentation was circulated to attendees of the Showcase, summarising PDU support, progress made so far and growth plans for the future – all with the aim of increasing revenue and reducing costs related to executive education pathways.
Alongside the launch of the PDU is the recent publication of the University’s first draft Employer Engagement Strategy, which seeks to streamline our approach to external engagement. This considers the important roles of College teams, as well as Alumni, Research & Enterprise, Careers & Employability and the PDU.
Colleagues are invited to review this first version and The Strategy is outlined in the Sway presentation above or accessed here
