Mandatory training reminder
At the University of Lincoln, safeguarding is a commitment to ensuring the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of all individuals, especially those who are most vulnerable.
As part of our ongoing efforts to create a safe and supportive environment, we are reminding all colleagues to attend the mandatory Safeguarding Adults at Risk & Children and Mental Health Support for Students face to face training course, if they have not already done so. Please note, this course is available for core colleagues.
Why Safeguarding Matters:
Safeguarding is about protecting people from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. It is crucial for promoting the autonomy, dignity, and quality of life of individuals. Effective safeguarding practices not only prevent harm but also empower staff to recognise and respond to signs of abuse, ensuring that those at risk receive the support they need.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, so attending the course is mandatory for all staff.
The Role of Training:
The Safeguarding Adults at Risk & Children and Mental Health Support for Students training course is designed to equip staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify, prevent, and respond to safeguarding concerns. This training is essential for fostering a culture of safety and protection within our university community. By attending this course, you will be able to:
-Understand the principles of Safeguarding in the context of your role at the University of Lincoln
-Recognise indicators of abuse and understand how to respond appropriately.
-Implement best practice including clear reporting mechanisms and support systems for those affected by abuse.
-Explore PREVENT (Government Counter Terrorism Strategy) and how it works alongside Safeguarding to stop individuals being drawn into terrorism.
-Learn how we support students with their mental health and how you can effectively signpost to the correct service.
