University of Lincoln Senior Lecturer appointed as Academic Adviser to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC)
Dr Eric Ruto, Senior Lecturer in Economics at Lincoln International Business School (LIBS) has been selected to join a panel of Academic Advisers to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC) for a three-year term renewable twice to a total of nine years’ service. Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the CSC provides the main UK government scholarship scheme led by international development objectives; it supports innovators and leaders of the future from low- and middle-income Commonwealth countries who are committed to having an impact on development after their awards. Dr Ruto will play a critical role in the selection of graduate Commonwealth Scholars. He was selected partly because of his significant and sustained contribution to doctoral training programmes (most recently as LIBS’s PhD Programme Leader) and his contribution to the field of agricultural economics and related research around sustainable development goals.
