Thought-provoking discussions about equality, diversity and inclusion are a critical part of problem-solving and decision-making. They help us determine values and explore moral and ethical opinions, and can help delineate where problems and imbalances of power exist.

The Talk Equity! programme is a series of equality, diversity and inclusion themed panel discussions and symposiums taking place throughout 2025.

Dr Simon Obendorf from the School of Social and Political Sciences will chair a discussion on the use of inclusive language. Topics will cover: what inclusive language means to you, becoming confident in using inclusive language, and what inclusive language means in the wider context of the University’s One Community values.
