Students as Scholars – Call for Chapters for an Exciting New Book Highlights the Nexus Between AI, Innovation Strategies, Governance, and Sustainability
Colleagues of the College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities, Lincoln International Business School, proudly call for chapters for an exciting book that underscores the vital connection between Artificial Intelligence (AI), innovation strategies, governance, and sustainability. This initiative aims to support students as scholars by offering a rich resource that explores contemporary issues in business innovation strategies towards a sustainable future.
This multidisciplinary volume provides an in-depth examination of the interdependencies between AI-driven business models, innovation strategies, governance frameworks, and sustainability practices. Integrating both theoretical perspectives and practical insights, the book covers essential topics such as technology adoption, accounting, finance, governance, management, marketing, sustainable supply chain management, and corporate sustainability strategies.
A key feature of the book is its incorporation of real-world corporate practices, highlighting organizations’ commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and broader sustainability initiatives. Laura McQuade is a Lecturer in Research Methods and International Relations & Political Systems at the University of Lincoln (UK) and a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy (FHEA), UK. Before joining the University of Lincoln, in 2022, she was Research and Development Co-Ordinator and Teacher of Geography at Boston Grammar School Research and Evidence Lead in Education with the Kyra (Now Lincolnshire) Research Network. Her expertise is management and wellbeing in the UK public section. Laura is leading multiple projects on teacher wellbeing, emotional labour in teaching and menopause policies in schools. Her academic publications and research have also focused on teacher wellbeing, industrial relations and menopause experiences in the workplace
Elena Nichele is a Lecturer in International Business Management at the University of Lincoln (UK) and a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy (FHEA), UK. Before joining the University of Lincoln, in 2023, she was a Research Fellow at the UKRI Trustworthy Autonomous System Hub and the Horizon Digital Economy Research Institute (University of Nottingham, UK, 2020-2023). Her expertise is cross-disciplinary and combines computer/technology-mediated and marketing communication with sociolinguistics and corpus linguistics. Elena is contributing and co-leading multiple projects on perceptions, often expressed using digital tools and AI. Her academic publications and research have also focused on the impact of identity and culture, particularly regarding the concept of authenticity.
Fadi Alkaraan is a Professor of Accounting & Finance, working at University of Lincoln as Associate Professor of Accounting, Governance & Sustainability. He has been appointed Visiting Professor EM Normandie Business School (Dubai) 2023-2024. Affiliate Professor at Gulf Finance Centre, Gulf University for Science & Technology, Kuwait (2023-2024), Affiliate Professor at the Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Dubai, UAE (2022-2023), Affiliated Professor (2020) at Jinan University (Lebanon). Fadi promoted to Professor of Accounting and Finance at Jinan University (Lebanon) (2020). Fadi held various academic positions at Business Schools including the University of Manchester (UK); Cork University Business School (Ireland), Abu Dhabi University and United Arab Emirates University (UAE), and University of Aleppo (Syria). PhD Accounting and Finance, Manchester Business School, Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy (UK), Certified Global Business Analyst and Certified Management Accountant, and FAIA. Fadi has over 25 years of teaching experience of teaching of experience across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. His research interests focus on business innovation strategies, governance, and sustainability, green strategic investment decision-making and business model transformation in large UK companies towards eco-systems, ESG, and SDGs. He has published more than 60 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has written several books and book chapters. His articles have appeared in journals such as British Accounting Review, Journal of Business Research, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Business Strategy and the Environment, International Journal of Finance and Economics, Technology Analysis & Strategic Management, and Journal of Applied Accounting Research. He is an Associate Editor of Journal of Applied Accounting Research, International Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Performance Evaluation, and Cogent Business & Management
