The Policy Hub are pleased to announce that Palace Yard will be delivering a half-day workshop for academics and research staff on using their defence and security research and reports to influence government policy at national and international level as well as mapping impact in the Lincolnshire region.

The workshop will take place in ATB3205, Alfred Tennyson Building, Brayford Campus, from 1pm-4pm on Wednesday 2 April.

The workshop will include:
– How to deal with policy that is swiftly developing (as with Ukraine/Russia, Israel Palestine, Trump’s election to the White House, Nato).
– International alliances (mainly United Nations and Nato and the future of the EU’s defence plans).
– Strategic Defence Review.
– Changing nature of defence policy in the context of technological developments (robotics and AI).

This will be an interactive workshop, so please complete the following form to give an overview of your research area to ensure that it is covered in the workshop – https://forms.office.com/e/BnrVsH4TZt.

We will look at opportunities in Parliament and Government that have the greatest impact, and the work that is happening in think tanks and local groups.

The workshop will be delivered by Roberta Blackman-Woods and Ed Biggins with input from Sir Roy Stone from Palace Yard. Palace Yard is a Think Tank created by a former MP to support Universities in connecting their research to policy makers.
