SENSS DTP information session
The South and East Network for Social Sciences (SENSS) Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) is a consortium of eight leading universities across the south and east of the UK promoting inventive and inclusive social science research training and collaboration.
As a Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP), SENSS provides:
– Fully-funded doctoral studentships
– Fully-funded post-doctoral fellowships
– Supervision from internationally leading experts in their field
– Research methods training tailored to individuals’ needs, and
– A range of placements to which researchers can bring their social scientific skills and share their findings beyond academia
The SENSS DTP is a major opportunity for university to showcase its research, provide opportunities for PhD study through competitions for fully funded studentships, and enhance the quality of our training provision through the network. SENSS will distribute fully funded PhD studentships through the consortium on a competitive basis. The studentships will be channelled through six interdisciplinary themes, which must also connect to the linked disciplinary areas (please note applications must be made by principal supervisors that come from those UoAs and meet additional eligibility criteria. Whilst this does not preclude other social science engagement in bidding, through co-design of projects and co-supervision, the key requirement is that the principal supervisor must come from the qualifying UoA) in each theme as noted below:
– Sustainability & Climate Change (Social Work/Policy),
– Health, Well-being & Social Care (Psychology, Allied Health Change, Social Work/Policy);
– Justice, Institutions and Social Change (Social Work/Policy);
– Resolving Uncertainty and Addressing Crises (Social Work/Policy);
– Digital Social Sciences (Psychology)

In preparation for the next round of studentship competitions, the University of Lincoln SENSS team will be holding an information session for supervisors. Here you can find out more about the application process for both the supervisor-led and student-led studentship competitions and have an opportunity to ask questions.
The session will take place on Wednesday 4 June at 10am – 11am on MS Teams. If you would like to attend, please email senss@lincoln.ac.uk.
