Volunteers Week 2025

posted by Olivia Warbey | 05/06/2025

Volunteers Week is being celebrated from 2 – 8 June 2025 in recognition of the contribution volunteers make across the UK.

Have you ever thought about volunteering but can never quite find the time? Did you know that the University offers colleagues two days paid leave a year to provide the community or a charity with your time and support whether it be as an individual or as part of a team?

The University has a bank of 150 days per year to which a colleague can apply for up to 2 per 12 month rolling period.

Examples of how Give Back Days can be used:

– Duke of Edinburgh leader

– Scout / Brownie leader

– Volunteering at a local kitchen for the homeless

– Participating in arranged activities at Riseholme, such as bulb planting or lambing

– Volunteering at an animal shelter

If you would like to find out more about volunteering opportunities in the community visit our Give Back Days portal page: https://lncn.ac/GBD or email staffwellbeing@lincoln.ac.uk

You can also find a host of volunteering opportunities on the Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Partnership website: https://lincscvp.org.uk/

If you have already taken this opportunity and would like to share your story and photos with us, please send them to staffwellbeing@lincoln.ac.uk
