Exhibition of historic images of Lincoln’s West End

Over the weekend of Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th April more than 200 people visited an exhibition of historic images of Lincoln’s West End held at two venues, the Isaac Newton Building on the University’s Brayford Campus and St Faith’s Church Hall, West Parade, Lincoln.

Brought together as a collaborative project between the University of Lincoln and the West End Residents Association (WERA), the event is part of an on-going project to celebrate the West End as a vibrant, changing, evolving community and to help students who live in the area understand a little more about the history of where they live.

The keynote speaker on the Saturday was Dr Andrew Walker, formerly Head of History at the University of Lincoln, now Vice Principal of Rose Bruford College, and a local historian who maintains a key role in the Survey of Lincoln series of publications.

People will have a further opportunity to see the exhibition again – and to donate images – at the Carholme Gala on Sunday 22nd September 2019.

A student-led film of the project was produced by the Digital Student Life team and can be viewed here:
