ILM Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management

 posted by | 17/01/2020

We all know Leadership is an essential part of management, which amongst other things helps to maximise efficiency, prioritise and achieve organisational goals, whilst providing direction, support and motivating staff in a changing and challenging environment. It is therefore vital we support our managers in developing these key skills, in order to drive the University forward. This Award aims to enhance these Leadership skills and will enable managers to gain external recognition for their professional development and achievements.

The Award in Leadership is a short single-unit, qualification exploring leadership roles and theories, self-leadership, emotional intelligence, winning and maintaining commitment, setting and communicating direction. It is particularly valuable for managers in leadership roles who are keen to underpin and demonstrate clearer knowledge of the principles and practice of effective leadership.

We have confirmed dates to run a programme, which will commence at the beginning of March. The specific dates are below for your information (please note to participate in the programme, you must be available for the first three dates from 9.30-4.30). The assignment preparation required will take place from the first workshop through to the middle of May, so please bare this in mind for the commitment involved.
