Funding Available for Public Engagement with Research: PEARL Activity Grants 2020-21 Open for Applications

 posted by | 20/01/2020

Do you have an activity engaging the public with research that you would like to fund?

The PEARL Activity Grant programme 2020-21 is now open for applications. The University of Lincoln’s PEARL (Public Engagement for All with Research at Lincoln) project annually funds at least six new activities which offer the public an opportunity to engage with research.

Examples of activities might include demonstrations or exhibitions somewhere your research might not normally reach (a school, museum, the high street…); opportunities for public participation in research (e.g. sports performance analysis with local athletes, community archaeological excavation, children’s language studies); workshops that share findings from your research or instil new skills; a focus group guiding and shaping research. Be as creative as you like!

For inspiration, previously funded projects can be seen on the PEARL website (https://pearl.lincoln.ac.uk/2019-20-grants).
Grants for amounts from £100-£1000 are open to all staff and postgraduate students. Application Guidelines and Forms can be accessed at: https://pearl.blogs.lincoln.ac.uk/2020-21-grants/

Completed forms should be submitted to pearl@lincoln.ac.uk via email by Friday 14th February 2020 and successful applicants will be informed in early March.

Formal announcement of the successful projects to take place in 2020-21 will be made at PEARL 2020 Conference on 25th March, celebrating and showcasing public engagement at Lincoln. Register for your place here: https://pearl2020conference.eventbrite.co.uk
