Annual Leave Carry Over 2019/2020

As part our response to supporting our staff through the impact of COVID-19 it has been agreed by the Senior Leadership Team to introduce additional carry over flexibilities in relation to the 2019/2020 annual leave year. This is to reflect the challenges that COVID has created in respect of additional work around redesigning the curriculum delivery, caring arrangements and restrictions on travel etc.

The new flexibilities introduced for the 19/20 year are:
– All untaken annual leave as at the 31st August 2020 will be carried over to the 2020/2021 leave year for one additional month.
– As of the 30th September 2020 any annual leave not taken will be lost at this point with the exception of up to 5 days or 37 hours and any Holiday + that was purchased.
– Carry over of up to 5 days or 37 hours and any Holiday + will remain for the 2020/2021 leave year including for academics.

All of the above amendments will take place within the HR system automatically with balances visible in MyView for colleagues and for managers as part of their reporting suite.
