New bursary for Fine Art students

New Midland Group Development Programme – Graduate Production Bursary
in Association with Lincoln School of Fine and Performing Arts | Supported by C4CC

Colleagues from Lincoln School of Fine and Performing Arts have worked in partnership with NMG and the Centre for Culture and Creativity to create an ambitious new opportunity for UoL’s Fine Artists. BA Fine Art Programme Leader, Steve Fossey and LSFPA Creative Engagement Producer, Rachel Baynton have been working closely with Artist Development Coordinator / Curator, Colette Griffin (NMG/PRIMARY) to provide the opportunity for an emerging artist affected by the Covid-19 pandemic during the final year(s) of their undergraduate course.

Supported by the Centre for Culture and Creativity the bursary will provide the recipient with with the tools and resources to produce work over a period of 9 months, with the resulting piece(s) then exhibited at a partner venue within the region.

The support package includes:

– £1250 artist fee
– £750 production fee to cover production costs
– £400 budget for each artist to appoint a mentor, curator or inspirational person
– 1-2-1 support throughout from NMG and College of Arts staff
– Access to additional mentoring provided by NMG and project partners
– Opportunity to work with the NMG associates cohort

Further Information:
The opportunity is available exclusively to undergraduates from the University of Lincoln’s BA (Hons) Fine Art who graduated in 2020 or will graduate in 2021. The NMG Development Programme has an emphasis on creatives who are from backgrounds currently under-represented within the sector.
