Sukhmani Sahib Pardth (Prayer of Peace)
On Sunday 27th June the Sukhmani Sahib (Prayer of Peace) will be recited at 2pm at Witham House. The Sukhmani Sahib is present in the holy Guru Granth Sahib, the main scripture and living Guru of Sikhism. The Sukhmani Sabib was written by the 5th Guru, Guru Arjan Dev ji 1563–1606). The word Sukhmani is translated as “consoler of the mind.” Sukh literally means peace or comfort and manimeans mind.
One of the fundamental texts of the Sikh faith, the Sukhmani Sahib presents a complete scheme of the teachings of the Sikh faith and the composition as a whole has a remarkable soothing quality. Please do join us for Sukhmani Sahib path which will be followed by Ardas (Sikh prayer). Kara prashad (sacred food) will be served after the Ardas. Everyone is welcome. Please bring a vegetarian dish to share after the prayers.
Sukhmani is held on the last Sunday of the month at Witham House, 2- 5pm.
