Entrepreneurship Teaching and Learning: “Changing the Teachers’ Thinking and Actions”

The ‘Changing the Teacher’s Thinking and Actions’ workshop session took place last week, highlighting the importance of developing entrepreneurship education to increase youth’s employability, entrepreneurial skills and competencies in Nigeria.

The interactive workshop, moderated by Dr Paul Igwe (Project lead), focussed on:

  • How to measure learners entrepreneurial competencies
  • Entrepreneurial pedagogy & teaching methods
  • Curriculum mapping
  • Responsible management education

Participants during the workshop had the opportunity to get involved and hold discussions on various topics, such as the barriers of teaching entrepreneurship in the Nigerian higher education, the necessary conditions for the development of entrepreneurship and employability skills among graduates, and the challenges of developing digital ecosystem in the higher education.

Further workshops will be held over the course of the following months.

This workshop is part of a British Council funded partnership project between University of Lincoln, Lincoln, UK; Coal City University, Enugu, Nigeria; and African Development Institute of Research Methodology (ADIRM), Enugu, Nigeria.
