Speaker: Dr. Daniel Booker
Bio: Since completing my PhD at the University of Bristol in 2021 under Professor Brendan Smith and Dr Benjamin Pohl, I have undertaken postdoctoral research roles at Lancaster University, The National Archives, and the University of Lincoln, and I am now a researcher and associate lecturer at the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England. My research interests centre upon bureaucracy, administration, and the intersection of political and intellectual culture in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, with a particular focus on medieval governmental institutions in Britain and Ireland and the domains of the Angevin kings of England. I am currently developing my first monograph on bureaucracy and the exercise of royal power in the reign of King John.
This talk is co-sponsored by the Lincoln Record Society (LRS).
