Men’s Mental Health Week – 10 – 16 June

posted by Olivia Warbey | 28/05/2024

For this year’s Men’s Health week (MHW) the Men’s Health Forum are taking their lead from King Charles who, earlier this year, shared that he had health concerns relating to his prostate. On the day after his announcement, there were 16,410 visits to the relevant National Health Service website page compared with 1,414 visits the previous day. Prostate Cancer UK saw the number of users of its online risk checker almost double.

This goes to show the difference that honest sharing can make. By talking and sharing our stories, who knows how many people it might help.

To find out more you can visit the Men’s Health Forum website: https://www.menshealthforum.org.uk/mhw.

To support MHW, we have invited Andy’s Man Club to deliver a talk and awareness session to colleagues at the University. Andy’s Man Club are a men’s suicide prevention charity, offering free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the United Kingdom and online. They want to end the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and help men through the power of conversation. #ITSOKAYTOTALK

The session will be open to ALL colleagues, aged 18 and over, date and details to follow shortly. Please email staffwellbeing@lincoln.ac.uk to register your interest in this session.
