Russell Schofield-Bezer Joins UKRI Board

Russell Schofield-Bezer, a Non-Executive Member of the University’s Board of Governors, has been appointed as one of four new non-executive members to the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Board.

Russell, who also chairs the University’s Finance, Infrastructure, and Investment Committee, will work with UKRI Chair, Sir Andrew Mackenzie, to support and challenge UKRI to ensure the organisation achieves its strategic objectives and fulfils its vision.

Russel has a wealth of experience in both international finance and higher education – having founded RSB Advisory Ltd, which provides strategic, stakeholder and industry advice to universities and other organisations, and working as Senior Advisor in the HE sector at Centrus, an international corporate finance advisory firm.

UKRI Chair Sir Andrew Mackenzie said: “I am thrilled to welcome our newest board members, whose diverse expertise and innovative perspectives will be invaluable as we pursue our vision of harnessing the power of research and innovation to transform lives and drive economic growth.”
