Professor of Development Economics Invited to Speak at “The World at a Turning Point” Cornell University Conference
Professor Saha, a Professor of Development Economics at Lincoln International Business School, delivered her lecture on “The Impact of Internationalization of Education on Economic Growth: Does Political Stability Matter?” a work-in- progress paper she has co-authored with colleague Dr Ngozi Adeleye.
She shared the platform at the prestigious event, held between 3 and 5 October, with eminent economists and policy makers. Among those invited was Ankush AsriPedro Conceicao, Director of the Human Development Report Office – United Nations Development Programme, Lili Yan Ing, Secretary General at the International Economic Association and Lead Advisor to the Southeast Asia Region , and Haroon Bhorat, Professor of Economics and Director of the Development Policy Research Unit, University of Cape Town.
Cornell University is a 150 year-old research institution with the USAs ‘Ivy League’, and the conference was a timely stocktaking of the world economy with a special focus on the changing nature of labour markets, technological progress, inequality, climate change, and related laws and regulations.
Professor Saha also had the opportunity of networking with other invited speakers and participants over three days at the conference.
Speaking about her time at the conference, Professor Saha said:
